Very liberal (Bernie Sanders is as conservative as I'm going to get. News sources include Occupy Democrats, Patribotics, Forward Progressives, and occasionally something conservative like the Huffington Post)

Progressive (Somewhere between Bernie and Barak, I listen to NPR and watch MSNBC and think it's the most legitimate source for my news. America needs assault weapons ban and strict gun control laws.)

Moderate Progressive (Something like: pro-choice, LGBTQ civil rights, BLM, but oppose a 2nd Amendment ban and believe in a strong military)

Independent (I genuinely try to look at each issue in isolation. I am disenchanted with both wings of the spectrum.)

Moderate Conservative (Something like: pro-life, traditional family values, but would vote for some version of more affordable and accessible healthcare)

Conservative (Big Ronald Reagan fan. I occasionally tune in to conservative talk radio. I frequently watch FOX news. Issues like eliminating the federal deficit and restricting immigration take precedence over social issues like LGBTQ rights. Gun violence is a mental health issue.)

Ultra Conservative (The deep state has launched an all-out war on traditional American values. News sources include The New York Post, Breitbart, Newsmax, Truth Social, etc.)

Look, I'm just trying to survive to the next paycheck. My news source? I'm checking the weather to see if I need a jacket.

My opinion on the role of DOGE in identifying government waste could be stated as:

The most qualified team is finally reviewing all records in detail and trimming the fat from the system.

There is absolutely waste, fraud, and inefficiency in the US government, and DOGE is a good first start to addressing it.

I have no opinion on this.

Elon Musk contributed enormous amounts of money to the Trump campaign in exchange for the freedom to tailor federal agencies to benefit his personal enterprises

They need more freedom to operate. The government should only fund public infrastructure, the military, and provide civic law & order - everything else has to go.

I am mostly confused by this, don't understand why Elon Musk is as involved as he is, and am a little worried about the methods being used to make cuts to federal programs.

The solution to gun violence in schools is:

Eliminate firearms in the US

Enhanced school security technology (security checkpoint, enhanced alarm systems to alert law enforcement, transparent backpacks, etc.)

Heavier constant police presence

100% virtual learning

Trained and armed teachers

Ban assault weapons and large capacity magazines (the gun holds >10 bullets)

Aggressive anti-bullying measures and freely available mental healthcare for all Americans under 18

My outlook on retirement is:

Good! I'm happily retired right now.

I'm looking forward to it - I've saved and invested for decades

I'm working toward it. I've got to make up some lost ground, but will get there.

I don't think I'll ever be able to afford retirement.

I never want to retire - my life is devoted to making an impact, and my impact comes through my work.

The US Healthcare system can be best improved by:

Eliminate private insurance companies and replace it all with a single-payer 'Medicare for All' type system

My healthcare is great - I hope nothing changes.

Allow private insurance companies to operate, but require that they all offer one comprehensive plan that is 100% subsidized by tax dollars to guarantee coverage for every American

Cash-only system for medical services.

Eliminate Medicare and Medicaid. Create a 100% private insurance market that will set its own pricing based on supply and demand

Implement the Affordable Care Act to its fullest initial intent.

My economic opinions most closely align with:

No private property. 100% centralized government control to allocate resources equally to all. Occupations are chosen by the government based on individual aptitudes.

A central government controls a core group of functions deemed essential (military, healthcare, housing, food), however an independent private market operates with minimal government control.

There should be no government. Goods and services have values based on each transaction.

A free market should operate with some regulation by a centralized government. Essential services should be provided to all citizens through taxation.

A free market should operate with no government interference. Taxes fund a set of core government functions (military, infrastructure, law & order)

Money isn't real! We should all barter for goods and services based on our own strengths!
