County Farm Bureau Staffing Feedback

OFB small

Hello County Farm Bureau Leadership!

Oregon Farm Bureau has a long history of some staff being stationed remotely in different regions to assist and work with County Farm Bureaus. Over the years the “Field Staff” have been called different things and has performed many diverse roles including providing support in different ways for County Farm Bureaus and for Oregon Farm Bureau. Field staff are used widely and in different ways by the vast majority of other state Farm Bureaus around the country.

In my time leading the staff at OFB I have heard many different opinions and ideas about whether we need field staff, what role they should be playing, how many we should have, etc.

I believe some “inward” facing staff, remote or otherwise, are key and valuable cogs for the grassroots nature of our organization. Every county Farm Bureau is different and has different needs and expectations. It is my opinion that any staff we have who are focused on the health, viability and productivity of County Farm Bureaus should have, or be able to develop, a strong skillset that could benefit the organization statewide.

Having said all that, I very much want to hear directly from our County Farm Bureaus and/or County Presidents about what skills or services would be most useful. To that end, please take just a few minutes to review the following questions and provide your input.

Thank you,
Greg
